On Monday, February, 26th, 2007 the Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation hosted 'SunSational', the 8th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show with Mrs. Dorothy A. Sullivan and Irma Anapol, as Honorary Chairwomen. The event was held at The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach and included a fashion show by Reem Acra presented by John de Medeiros International Boutique of Palm Beach.
The luncheon also featured Bagteria's exquisite vintage-style handbags, designed by Asian designer Nancy Go. They are hand-crafted using vintage beads, antique fabrics, and precious materials like Mother of Pearl, Swarovski crystals, and ostrich leather. We also featured items from Polo Jewelers.
The Melanoma Foundation, dedicated to the prevention and early detection of skin cancer, is the first in the country to present integrated school - based curricula, SunSmart America ™ , that educate children and families on skin cancer prevention and early detection. The Foundation and SunSmart America ™ has won numerous awards and continues to make strides in the fight against skin cancer.
